Gateway Celebrates Lasting Recovery on Sept. 24
CHICAGO, Sept. 21 /PRNewswire/ -- Gateway Foundation Alcohol & Drug Treatment will celebrate those who have achieved substance abuse recovery at its Chicago West Treatment Center in a special ceremony there on September 24.
"September is National Recovery Month. During this time, we are raising awareness about the disease of addiction, and spotlighting the availability of substance abuse help to those in need," said Sally Thoren, Executive Director, Chicago West. "It is wonderful to be able to celebrate our clients' success stories and encourage them on the way to lasting recovery."
Among the honored guests will be Chicago 24th Ward Alderman, Sharon Denise Dixon. Alderman Dixon has been a long-time supporter of Gateway's mission of providing professional, affordable and accessible alcohol treatment and drug rehab services to those in the Chicago area.
Guest speaker will be Sam H., who successfully completed the Gateway program more than 15 years ago. Now, a prominent business owner and family man, Sam H. is a role model to those who are recently recovered, he shows that lasting recovery is possible.
Thousands have been treated at the Chicago Alcohol & Drug Treatment Center, which is located just four miles from downtown Chicago, during the past 17 years. Since the more formal ceremony began in 2002, more than 1,700 graduates have celebrated sobriety.
The Chicago West treatment center offers a residential campus that provides the following drug and alcohol treatment programs in Chicago: Adult Male Residential and Day Treatment, Co-ed Dual Diagnosis Residential and Day Treatment and Adolescent Male Residential Treatment.
Gateway Foundation Alcohol & Drug Treatment's Chicago Northwest Outpatient Treatment Center, located just a few miles away, also has graduated several thousand individuals from its drug and alcohol treatment programs in Chicago.
