DENVER, Aug. 10, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Gates Corporation is pleased to support the inaugural Colorado Classic, a professional bicycle race featuring top pro cycling teams from around the world. As part of this sponsorship, Gates executives will present leader jerseys to the men's and women's leaders at the end of each stage of the race.
Gates is also participating in the Velorama festival associated with the Colorado Classic. Velorama is a three-day bike and music festival being held in Denver's RINO district from August 11-13, 2017. Gates will have a large presence on the festival grounds and will showcase a range of premium and electric bicycles from more than a dozen brands, along with electric motorcycles and other technologies that use Gates advanced products and solutions.
"Gates is proud to partner with the Colorado Classic, which is bringing pro cycling back to Colorado. Cycling is such an important part of the Colorado lifestyle, and this event provides our company with a great opportunity to get out in the community to showcase some of our new bike technologies," says Tom Pitstick, Chief Marketing Officer for Gates Corporation.
In addition to its participation in these events, Gates has teamed up with the nonprofit Wish for Wheels to assemble and deliver new Gates Carbon Drive equipped bicycles to seventh-graders from Cesar Chavez Academy. The bikes are made by Priority Bicycles and all will feature a belt instead of a traditional chain. Additionally, each student will also receive a bike lock and helmet thanks to a partnership with Quality Bicycle Products, a leading supplier of bicycles, parts, and accessories to bike shops.
Brad Appel, founder and executive director of Wish for Wheels added, "As a Denver-based group that donates bicycles nationwide, we are incredibly excited to partner with Gates Corporation to make a positive impact in our hometown."
Gates employees and representatives from Wish for Wheels and Priority Bicycles will assemble the bikes on Friday, August 11 from 9 to 11 am at Union Station plaza.
