gategroup Announces Organization Changes in IT, eGate Solutions

ZURICH, Aug. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- gategroup announced today that Edward Mitzel, currently Group Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer (CIO), will become Chief Executive Officer of the eGate Solutions brand. Stein Tumert, currently Regional Information Officer for Europe and Africa, will succeed Mitzel in the role of Group CIO. The appointments are effective immediately.

Mitzel, a member of the gategroup Executive Management Team (EMT) continues to report to gategroup Chief Executive Officer Guy Dubois, and will remain based in Reston, VA. Tumert now reports to Chief Financial Officer Thomas Bucher and joins the EMT. He is based at gategroup's global headquarters in Zurich, Switzerland.

Mitzel joined the company in April 2005 as Vice President and CIO of the Americas organization. He was named Group CIO in December that year. Prior to joining the company, he was Vice President and CIO of Hanger Orthopedic Group of Bethesda, Maryland, a national medical services and products company.

Tumert joined gategroup in March 2010. His most recent previous position was CIO for the Burger King Corporation EMEA, which provided him with valuable experience in managing the IT organization for a large international corporation. He also was a senior IT executive at the adidas headquarters in Germany.
