WASHINGTON, June 8, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Gary Sinise, award-winning actor, director, and humanitarian, will discuss efforts to address the needs of military veterans and their families at a National Press Club Speakers Breakfast June 16.
Perhaps best known for his Oscar-nominated portrayal of Lt. Dan in "Forest Gump," Sinise was recently tapped to receive the 2015 Service to America Leadership Award by the National Association of Broadcasters Education Foundation. He is founder of The Gary Sinise Foundation and serves as national spokesman for the Medal of Honor Museum.
In 2003, Sinise formed the "Lt. Dan Band" and has since performed up to 50 shows a year entertaining the troops at home and abroad. For his work with America's military, Sinise was bestowed with The Bob Hope Award for Excellence in Entertainment and the prestigious Presidential Citizens Medal.
For 30 years, Sinise has been among Hollywood's most vocal advocates for American servicemen and women. Sinise previously starred in the crime drama "CSI: NY," and he is slated to appear in the upcoming television series "Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders" on CBS.
The Press Club breakfast will begin promptly at 8:30 a.m. Remarks will begin at 9:00 a.m., followed by a question-and-answer session, ending at 10:00 a.m. Tickets may be purchased by going to the following link.
