Garnero will take part of the discussions about the future of Haiti with Jose Maria Aznar, Michaelle Jean and other global leaders
NEW YORK, Sept. 26, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Tomorrow it will happen the Annual Meeting of PACEGI (Presidential Advisory Council on Economic Growth and Investment of Haiti), an international board of global leaders initiated by the Office of President Michel Martelly, that aims at promoting foreign investments in Haiti as a way to develop prosperity for the Haitian people. Among the members of the council are former USA president Bill Clinton, former prime-minister of Spain, Jose Maria Aznar and The Right Honorable Michelle Jean, 27th Governor General and Commander in chief of Canada.
The vision of the meeting is to chart next year goals in order to transform Haiti from a place to "conduct charity" into a place to "conduct business;" thereby positioning Haiti as a key destination in the Caribbean for foreign investment. Each counselor will be in charge of exploring and finding the best solutions for specific issues: Mario Bernardo Garnero will organize visits of Brazilian investors to Haiti. Mr. Aznar goal is to mobilize Ibero-American states in order to develop and to support educational and cultural programs in Haiti, working together with State University of Haiti. Ms. Jean will keep working on the preservation of UNESCO's heritage sites, to raise funds to rebuild cultural and natural sites that were damaged in the earthquake and to promote the Haitian culture, in Canada especially, through the arts.
