Garda Security Screening Inc. and the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers, Transportation District 140, reach collective agreement
Minister Leitch congratulates both parties
OTTAWA, May 19, 2015 /CNW/ - Today, the Honourable Dr. K. Kellie Leitch, Minister of Labour and Minister of Status of Women, congratulated Garda Security Screening Inc. and the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers, Transportation District 140, on the renewal of their collective agreement.
The agreement was reached with assistance from the Labour Program's Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service (FMCS). The FMCS provides dispute resolution and dispute prevention assistance to trade unions and employers under the jurisdiction of the Canada Labour Code.

- Garda Security Screening Inc. is the largest provider of pre-board security screening services to the Canadian Air Transport Security Authority.
- The collective agreement covering approximately 1,600 employees providing pre-board security screening services at Lester B. Pearson International Airport, Buttonville Airport and Toronto City Centre Airport expired on March 31, 2015.
