Garanti Bank Purchases Radware's ADC-VX Virtualization Solution for Intranet and TCP/IP-based Banking Applications
Advanced virtualization hypervisor and platform enables top private bank to consolidate its data center and provide new online services whilst improving quality of experience for customers
MAHWAH, N.J.; May 18, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Radware (NASDAQ: RDWR), a leading provider of integrated application delivery solutions for business-smart networking, today announced that Garanti Bank, Turkey's second largest private bank, has purchased Radware's ADC-VX™, the industry's first Application Delivery Controller (ADC) hypervisor that runs multiple virtual ADC instances on Radware's dedicated OnDemand Switch® platform – which is enabling the company to consolidate its data center and focus on developing new intranet and TCP/IP based banking applications.
With close to 17,000 employees, Garanti Bank caters to the financial needs of its 9 million customers. Present in all types of business including corporate, private, commercial, SME, retail and investment banking, Garanti operates as an integrated financial services company with its nine subsidiaries offering services in payment systems, pensions, leasing, factoring, brokerage and asset management. Garanti was looking to ensure a high quality of experience of its banking services and critical backend applications as well as to consolidate its data center.
After evaluating several ADC solutions – Garanti chose Radware's ADC-VX solution for its unique virtualization capabilities, which includes complete fault, network and management isolation between its virtual ADC instances. This isolation architecture combined with virtualized hardware-based SSL offloading capabilities will free the bank's servers CPUs to handle additional requests thus, minimizing the need for additional investment in hardware to support application processing requirements and thus, further decrease costs. Additionally, the deployment of Radware's ADC-VX also provides operational expenditure savings in terms of power, cooling, and footprint, reduced annual service costs, and new service facilitation.
"We were looking for a virtualized ADC solution for our advanced intranet and TCP/IP based banking services – without compromising resiliency or performance of our ADC services," said Senol KARAHASAN, VP of Network at Garanti Bank. "As a long term customer of Radware, we knew that its virtualization solutions would provide us with the same technology and business advantages we have already experienced with Radware solutions, and one that would enabled us to expand our services offering to our customers.
"As one of Turkey's leading banks, Garanti required a scalable, highly available solution that would deliver more with less hardware while enabling them to offer the highest quality of experience to their customers," said Roberto Neisser, Sales Director Turkey, Radware. "Our ADC-VX was a perfect match to Garanti's virtualized application delivery requirements – as it guarantees business continuity of critical applications using an innovative fault isolation mechanism, while reducing costs in the data center."
Radware's ADC-VX hypervisor is part of its Virtual Application Delivery Infrastructure – (VADI™) strategy, which focuses on bringing full agility and efficiency of virtualization to application delivery solutions. VADI is an architecture which transforms computing resources, as well as application delivery and virtualization services into one integrated, agile and scalable Application Delivery Virtualization Infrastructure.
