Garage Gurus™ to Host Facebook Live Event on October 17th
Garage Guru Mark Kenyon and John Gurnig from the Fel-Pro® Field Test Garage to Demonstrate How to Diagnose and Address Gasket Failure
SOUTHFIELD, Mich., Oct. 15, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- On Wednesday, October 17th, Garage Gurus™, the first-of-its-kind national training platform, will hold a Facebook Live event at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT, broadcast from the Federal-Mogul Motorparts location in Detroit, MI. Guru Mark Kenyon and John Gurnig from the Fel-Pro® Field Test Garage will walk through all the steps necessary to diagnose and repair gaskets on a General Motors 3.6L engine.
During the live event, the audience will be able to learn how to accurately verify gasket failure. Once gasket failure is determined, Kenyon and Gurnig will teach viewers the proper method to remove engine components before gasket removal, and then how to prepare the component surface for accurate installation of the new gasket. They will also offer tips and tricks to make all aspects of the process move forward more smoothly. Upon conclusion of the demonstration, both will be available to take live questions from participants.
"Fall is symbolically known as 'leak season,' and there isn't a better time for technicians to begin thinking about inspecting their customers' vehicles to identify leaks that could lead to more expensive repairs down the road," said Rebecca Mahan, director, brand marketing, North America, Federal-Mogul Motorparts. "For more than 100 years, Fel-Pro has been North America's predominant brand of replacement automotive gaskets and seals, and we're excited to be able to help techs learn how to quickly resolve sealing issues often seen in the repair environment."
This is the sixth installment of Garage Gurus' ongoing Facebook Live series. The first Facebook Live event was held in May 2017, when Guru Tim Habel demonstrated Fel-Pro head gasket replacement tips (https://www.facebook.com/FMGarageGurus/videos/1888716868033623/). In August, Guru John Dixon hosted a seminar on ABS installation techniques (https://www.facebook.com/FMGarageGurus/videos/1936414759930500/), while Guru Bud Houston instructed participants on how to identify and correct problems usually not covered during a general suspension inspection in October (https://www.facebook.com/FMGarageGurus/videos/1962274034011239/).
