Peter has more than twenty years' experience in senior financial, commercial and management roles, the majority in the tobacco industry with Rothmans International and British American Tobacco.
His appointment follows the hiring of a string of senior executives from the tobacco industry earlier in the year, who are leading Gamucci's continued expansion.
Tony Scanlan has assumed the newly created role of CEO, with responsibility for Gamucci's operations worldwide. He has a strong background and reputation in the traditional tobacco industry, having spent 17 years with Rothmans International in a number of senior roles, including as Strategic New Brands Director.
John Dunne has joined Gamucci as UK Head of Sales, bringing more than 13 years' experience in the tobacco industry, including senior sales roles in Altria with Philip Morris USA and John Middleton Cigars.
Gamucci has also appointed two former Imperial Tobacco executives to its senior team. Jonathan Cox is leading Gamucci's expansion into North America as CEO (USA). He was Imperial Tobacco's Head of Business Development in Asia and Latin America for six years before moving to head up Imperial's USA subsidiary, Commonwealth Brands.
Jacqueline Burrows is advising the executive team as Associate Director of Corporate Affairs. With over 30 years in the international tobacco industry, she is one of the most experienced board level corporate affairs executives in the sector, and was Director of Public Affairs for Rothmans International before spending the last eleven years with Imperial Tobacco, most recently as Head of Public & Political Affairs. She now has her own public affairs consultancy, Lansdown Public Affairs.
Taz and Umer Sheikh, Founders of Gamucci, said: "We are delighted to welcome Peter to the team. He has a very strong financial background and adds further depth to our pool of industry knowledge and expertise."
"He joins a strong and complementary team and the senior hires we have made this year have already made a significant impact in helping us as entrepreneurs to drive the business forward. The fact that tobacco industry professionals of this calibre are attracted to Gamucci shows the strength of our prospects and positioning."
