IRVINE, Calif., ISTANBUL, and BANGALORE, India, Oct. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- GamersFirst (www.gamersfirst.com), today's most popular Free2Play® MMO publisher, has made significant leeway against hackers after the shut-down 40 critical illegal private servers in Turkey; resulting in additional 400 private servers terminating their services.

GamersFirst created an internal task force in 2009 to legally handle private server issues for their titles on a global scale. The task force began with GamersFirst's flagship MMORPG, Knight Online. GamersFirst has launched campaigns against both private server owners and hosting sites, imposing legal and financial punishment through law enforcement. There are also similar cases in the USA that are pending compensation forfeit and will continue to be searched and investigated.

GamersFirst warns players not to play on private servers for high security risks. Games that are played on private servers have no obligations to comply with gamers' needs or security. Many players have been faced with conditions like losing account information, stolen bank/credit card information and the use of player computers as 'zombie computers' to commit other crimes. It is encouraged to report private servers and other illegal actions associated with MMO's to continue the fight against piracy and preserving player rights!
