GamePlus stays exclusive to Rogers customers, as CRTC dismisses Bell complaint
Rogers customers will continue to enjoy exclusive access to GamePlus within Rogers NHL GameCentre LIVE
TORONTO, March 16, 2015 /CNW/ - Today the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) said Rogers could continue to offer exclusive hockey content to its customers through GamePlus.
"We applaud the CRTC for allowing us to develop new and innovative camera angles and exclusive content that are part of GamePlus. This was a smart decision and is good for hockey fans," said Keith Pelley, President, Rogers Media.
Fans can watch the live game on TV while pulling up the Ref Cam, Sky Cam or a MyReplay with GamePlus on their mobiles or tablets. GamePlus lets fans choose some of these unique camera angles for select NHL games each week plus select Stanley Cup® Playoff games, the NHL® All Star Game, and the 2015 Bridgestone NHL Winter Classic®.
More than just cameras and angles, GamePlus also brings fans exclusive interviews, analysis, previews, NHL news of the day, and original video-on-demand content produced throughout the season.
"Our customers are using their mobile devices more than ever, which is why GamePlus is such a great add-on to watching the traditional game broadcast," added Pelley. "We won't stop giving fans new ways to watch hockey and we won't stop looking for other innovative ways to deliver programming."
