Gamber-Johnson Introduces an In-Vehicle Docking Station for Dell Tablet Users
STEVENS POINT, Wis., Oct. 17, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Gamber-Johnson today announced their first docking station designed for the Dell Latitude 12 Rugged Tablet at the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) in San Diego, CA. This marks the first time Gamber-Johnson has designed a docking station for a Dell computer since 2005.

The new, lightweight docking station (just 3.6 lbs/1.63 kg) is packed with features designed to support how people work in their vehicle. For example, the cords connect upward at the back of the dock and can be routed down the side or center so they won't obstruct the vehicle's dashboard. The tablet's stylus can be used when the tablet is safely docked in a vehicle; and the stylus cord, even when it's placed between the tablet and the docking station, won't interfere with the tablet's connectivity.
The new docking station gives complete access to the tablet and docking station ports even when the dock is mounted in a vehicle.
"The docking station gives Dell users the best way to keep their tablet safe and secure within their vehicle," said Brian Wagner, president and CEO of Gamber-Johnson. "Gamber is excited to partner with a market leader in business computing. Dell's rugged computing customers now have another option for their vehicle docking requirements from the market leader in ruggedness, reliability, and responsiveness."
This is the first of two docking stations Gamber-Johnson is designing for Dell. A docking station for the Dell Latitude 12 and 14 Rugged/14 Rugged Extreme/12 Rugged Extreme Convertible Laptop is in development and should be available in early 2017.
The tablet docking station will be available for purchase from Gamber-Johnson resellers beginning December 2016.
