GALA 2013 Conference to Speak The Language of Business
Leading event for global language industry set for March 17-20 in Miami
MIAMI, Feb. 13, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- With "The Business of Language" as its theme, the Globalization and Localization Association (GALA) will host its 2013 conference March 17-20 at Eden Roc Renaissance Hotel in Miami Beach, Fla. This year's event marks the first time GALA's global conference has been held on U.S. soil.
Participants from more than 30 countries will be on hand to discuss innovations and best practices in the global language business. Approximately two-thirds of the estimated 250 attendees will come from upper management, and key topics on the 2013 agenda will focus on Latin American markets, language technologies, and globalization strategy.
Highlights of the 2013 event also include more than 45 professional development workshops; exhibits and demos from some of the world's top translation, localization, and technology companies; a Research & Innovation spotlight featuring leading-edge industry developments; and multiple training and networking opportunities.
"GALA is the voice of the global language industry. Our annual conference is not only our most important event for sharing information and innovations within the industry itself, it's also an opportunity to take our story to the rest of the world," said Hans Fenstermacher, CEO of GALA.
"There is a pressing need for a deeper understanding of professional language management, not just among small- and mid-sized firms, but even among the highest ranks of the world's leading companies. As globalization increasingly becomes the norm, every organization needs to think internationally. Understanding what professional language management is—and isn't—can literally make the difference between success and failure in international markets," Fenstermacher said.
