Gainesville New Horizons Named Business Global Leader
GAINESVILLE, Fla., Oct. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- The Gainesville branch of New Horizons Computer Learning Center has been named Global Location of the Year for 2010. The Gainesville center has received Location of the Year for North American Small Markets for the third time and two of its instructors were recognized as being among the Top 25 worldwide.
Additionally, New Horizons was recently awarded with the "Growing Our Own" business expansion award presented by the Gainesville Area Chamber of Commerce.
Tim Broom, director of the Gainesville branch, said his center's success has everything to do with the passion of the staff.
"Everyone on the team is inspired to train people who get inspired through technology," Broom said.
The team is comprised of administrative staff and instructors, all of whom have been with the center for at least five years and have extensive training in their areas.
New Horizons offers options for every pace and schedule, from single-title with multiple level courses in programs like Microsoft Office and Adobe, to enrollment in full-time information technology courses, to extended learning for IT personnel. As official Cisco, Microsoft and CompTIA partners, New Horizons has access to the latest technology. For vocational career seekers, lifetime career placement services are offered to help students gain employment and use their skills on the job.
Broom also directs the New Horizons center in Pensacola, as well as virtual markets in Tallahassee, Mobile and Lakeland area. For military training in Pensacola, New Horizons offers certification compliance for Directive 8570.
"We have seen an uptick in our request for security and the sense of urgency to get appropriate persons certified is significant, but we are accommodating each one and making things happen by using our resources across North Florida and the U.S. to make sure it gets done for them," Broom said.
Over the past 10 years New Horizons has learned each client may prefer to learn at different paces, different schedules and with multiple methods they refer to as modalities. To accommodate everyone, classes are available in the learning center, from your home computer, in your office and even on your iPad.
