G2 Crowd publishes Winter 2015 rankings of the best expense management tools, based on user reviews
Two platforms earn Leader status while Certify tops overall satisfaction rankings in crowdsourced report
CHICAGO, March 4, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- The updated Grid℠ report for expense management tools, published today by business software review site G2 Crowd, ranks 11 products to help purchasers in their selections.
The Winter 2015 report is based on more than 700 reviews written by business professionals.
The Grid℠, which is created from G2 Crowd's software review platform, factors in customer satisfaction reported by users and vendor market presence determined from social and public data to rank products.
Expense management software records, processes, reimburses, and reports on employee expenses. Employees input expenses for approval through a browser or mobile application. Administrators can track expense reports, enforce company policies for expenses and travel, set up approval routings, and generate reports for specific projects or company departments. In addition, some platforms provide tools to help book and manage travel itineraries.
To qualify as a Leader, a product must receive a high customer satisfaction score and have substantial market presence. Certify and Concur were both named Leaders. High Performers have high customer satisfaction scores with a smaller market presence than Leaders. Expensify, UNIT4 Travel & Expenses, ExpenseWatch, Replicon, Nexonia Expenses and Journyx were named High Performers. Certify earned the highest overall customer satisfaction score.
Across all expense management platforms, reviewers reported the product they use meets their requirements at an average rate of 84%, and on average reviewers said they were 82% likely to recommend the product they use.
Some highlights from the expense management reviews on G2 Crowd:
"Certify makes it easy for me to manage my expenses and make sure that I'm following all of my company's guidelines for submission. Any issues with a particular expense are clearly identified and easy to resolve. The per diem wizard is also very easy to use."
- Michael Cruz, Regional Applications Engineer at Daktronics
"Concur makes it easy to submit reimbursements. It's got a great interface, a gallery for your receipts, and it clearly shows you if you need to edit any of your submissions. I also like that it is available as a mobile app; some of my colleagues use it to upload their receipts which can be captured using their smartphone camera and uploaded into the receipt gallery. It takes less than a week for me to receive my reimbursements!"
- Mint Bhetraratana, Advocate Coordinator at Health Leads
"Expensify is so easy to use, it takes most of the pain out of completing and filing expense reports. It also does this at a tremendous value price, so you aren't expending significant budget to manage your expenses. Finally, as a SaaS solution, it is extremely quick and easy to get set up, and links to all of your major credit cards, and expense items."
- Jeffrey Revoy, President and CEO at Viralheat
"[UNIT4] Travel & Expenses is extremely easy to use and administer. [Its] intuitive user interface and general ease of use makes for an efficient and effective system that everyone seems to be happy with."
- Erik Spieler, Business Systems Administrator at Cameron
"Having moved from a paper system three years ago to having company credit card data downloaded to each of our users' ExpenseWatch accounts is just fantastic. [The] staff save[s] time on inputting information, there are multiple ways to attach receipts and the approval process is quick and efficient."
- Paula McChristian, Director of Finance & HR, Greater Raleigh Convention and Visitors Bureau
"The reporting capabilities of Replicon were great, having worked with some other billing/time accounting systems. Being able to pull almost any piece of information into a report makes reporting to executives so much easier."
- Zack Frankel, Billing System Administrator at Access One, Inc.
"Nexonia does what software is supposed to – make life easier with seamless transitions between all the moving parts. It used to be that getting expense reports from our employees was very difficult, if it ever happened at all. Now we simply ask them to take pictures of their receipts as they go along, each time they spend money on something. Because they all have smart phones, it's very simple."
- Brent Taylor, Financial Analysis Professional at Imagine Learning
"As a [user], the [Journyx] user interface was pretty simple and not too complicated. Having tasks be remembered automatically for the next week was practical, and the week grid allows fast time entry. As a [developer] who had to integrate other systems to automatically add time entries, the API had a very good and clear documentation. It made it a lot easier to integrate the product."
- Vincent Vinet, Open Source Consultant at Savoir-faire Linux
