G2 and Asset Oversight Services Form Strategic Partnership
NEW YORK, July 6 /PRNewswire/ -- G2 Investment Group (G2), the asset management firm started by J. Todd Morley, has entered into a strategic partnership with Asset Oversight Services (AOS), an advisory and asset management firm focused on illiquid, private credit assets. The venture will be named G2 Asset Advisors.
G2 Asset Advisors combines the global strength, distribution and real estate capabilities of G2 Investment Group with the deep focus AOS and its team possess in private non-real estate credit assets. Their combined capabilities will provide institutional investors, insurance companies, banks, hedge funds, funds of hedge funds, and other financial institutions with the following:
- Portfolio advisory and strategic alternatives for challenged, private credit holdings
- Substitute servicing of hedge funds in wind-down or failed restructurings
- Liquidation strategies and solutions for holders of individual assets or entire portfolios
- Captive financing vehicles to take advantage of market opportunities in private credit
- Proprietary technology delivering customized asset level transparency and analytics
According to Morley, the market for illiquid, private credit assets is enormous and entirely underserved. "A readily deployable solution is demanded by holders of these assets as they have largely been ignored," Morley said. "G2 Asset Advisors and G2 Real Estate Advisors, led by Kenneth Cohen, Larry Kravetz, Charlie Manna and Spencer Kagan, enable our firm to assist clients across the full breadth of illiquid assets, from market-challenged commercial real estate debt to orphaned structured credit."
"Partnering with G2 gives AOS the scale and resources necessary to deliver best-in-class solutions to institutions with exposure to illiquid assets," said Brian Broesder, President of AOS. "The experience we possess, coupled with G2's capital markets and real estate expertise, positions G2 Asset Advisors as a market leader in advising institutions with exposure to challenging structured credit assets."
G2 Asset Advisors specializes in advising holders of illiquid credit assets as well as providing customized liquidity solutions, either through disposition to active third-party purchasers through its capital markets division or opportunistic investments made by one of G2's captive fund vehicles. The group is currently advising on the sale of direct debt and equity in highly structured assets including aircraft, alarm servicing contracts, auto loans, business acquisition loans, credit cards (specialty and distressed), equipment leases, timeshare loans, among others.
"This full-service approach for our clients differentiates us in the industry and provides valuable market intelligence and innovative solutions from experts in their respective asset classes," added Morley. He noted that the AOS team has sourced and invested in more than $2 billion of complex credit assets since 2004 and is prepared to quickly assess client exposures and determine prudent liquidity solutions designed to maximize value.
