Future of Face Lifting Revealed at International Conference
New Hybrid Future Lift(TM) Technique Delivers Best In Class Results with Minimal Downtime and Scarring
NEW YORK, April 29 /PRNewswire/ -- The world's top plastic surgery professionals have gathered in Miami, FL this week to share the latest research and techniques at the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (AAFPRS) 10th International Symposium of Facial Plastic Surgery (April 28th - May 2nd). Among those presenting was renowned Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon Dr. Andrew Jacono, who offered a glimpse into the future of face lifting techniques with his new "Future Lift™" procedure -- a hybrid technique which fuses the optimal features of older-generation short-incision "mini" face lifts and deep plane face lifts, to yield superior, natural looking results with minimal scarring and a shorter recovery (7-10 days). Future Lift™ restores volume to the cheekbones and smoothes nasolabial folds, resulting in a youthful, beautiful, heart shaped face and a natural looking result that does not appear tight or "overdone."

The Past:
Short-incision "mini" face lifts (or "S-Lifts") of years past utilize an abbreviated incision to lift the skin. While the incision was small (hidden inside the ear) and left minimal scarring, post-operative bleeding and bruising is a trademark of these procedures. And, since they typically tighten only the skin, they can leave patients with windswept, "pulled" appearance with results lasting only three to five years.
Compared to the S-Lift, a deep plane face lift yields more effective, longer lasting results, as the procedure lifts the skin and muscle as one unit and lifts the mid-face and cheek area. On the downside, deep plane face lifts use a very large incision, resulting in more noticeable scarring, which makes hiding the procedure impossible.
"For years, patients had to choose between better results or less scarring," says Dr. Jacono, whose Future Lift™ improves upon the best of both techniques.
The Future:
The Future Lift™ uses a short incision, while lifting the facial tissue and muscles simultaneously – so patients get the superior results of a deep plane face lift, combined with the minimal scarring of an S-Lift. Since this procedure gently lifts underneath the muscles, there is less bleeding and bruising, with a shorter recovery of only 7-10 days.
Dr. Jacono praises the Future Lift™ as not only an option that delivers best-in-class results, but a procedure that offers longer-lasting results, as well. "The standard lifetime of an S-Lift is between three to five years but with the new Future Lift™, results typically last 12 to 15 years," says Dr. Jacono.
Dr. Jacono predicts that this procedure will become the face lift of choice for patients. "Future Lift™ utilizes the most advanced techniques, and delivers the best, most natural looking results," says Dr. Jacono.
The Future Lift™ costs approximately $15,000.
