Fusion Academy Named to Inc. 5000 List of Fastest-Growing Companies in America
Alternative school with one-to-one classes continues rapid expansion
SAN DIEGO, Sept. 8, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Fusion Academy & Learning Center, a San Diego-based school that teaches all of its classes on a one-to-one basis, earned a spot on the 2011 Inc. 5000 list of the nation's fastest-growing private companies.
Fusion Academy was ranked #61 among education companies, and #3989 on the comprehensive list. The school was named to the list for its rapid and sustained growth over the past two years, opening eight campuses across Southern and Northern California since February 2010.
The original Fusion Academy campus was launched 20 years ago in the Solana Beach garage of Founder Michelle Rose Gilman under the belief that the traditional school model is not the best option for every student.
"We are honored to be recognized as one of the fastest growing companies in the nation," Gilman said. "We are especially proud of providing students, who might otherwise have fallen through the cracks of the traditional education system, with an education that is tailored specifically to meet their individual needs."
Compiled by Inc. Magazine, the 2011 Inc. 500|5000 is ranked according to percentage revenue growth when comparing 2007 to 2010. This is the second time that Fusion Academy has landed on the list.
