Furniture China and Maison Shanghai Celebrate Remarkable Growth in 2018
SHANGHAI, Oct. 29, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- The 24th China International Furniture Expo (better known as Furniture China 2018), hosted by Shanghai UBM Sinoexpo Int'l Exhibition Co., Ltd., and its concurrent event – Maison Shanghai 2018 - successfully concluded on 14 September in Pudong, Shanghai. During the four-day exhibition, the two shows presented thousands of furniture products and home decorations with around 3,500 exhibitors in SNIEC and SWEECC.
The post-show statistics show positive results in visitor engagement, exhibitor satisfaction and customer experience. Both fairs together hosted buyers and visitors from 132 countries and regions; total visit counts from all gates reached a new record. From upstream to downstream, the two platforms have both greatly stimulated the furniture market, and have facilitated trade and business for the industry.
A Business Networking Hub, Internationalized and Open-minded
Internationality is a firm topic for Furniture China to discuss and practice for the market. In 2018, more international brands came to the exhibition and new international forums were held to lift the industrial proposal. 220 exhibitors from 24 countries came into Hall E1 & E2, including international pavilions from France, Belgium, Italy, South Korea, Turkey, and Malaysia. The World Furniture Forum 2018 launched the World Furniture Confederation Shanghai Initiative and developed an exploratory conversation on the cooperative industrial eco-system worldwide; the International Alliance of Furnishing Publications (IAFP) and its members from 10 countries also held a forum at Furniture China 2018. More than 20 international professions discussed the current situation and dynamics in the furniture industry of their respective home countries in terms of production, exports, imports, business activities, retail landscape, market segmentation, and other aspects.
Where Design Extends
In 2018, Hall E5 was specially arranged as the Contemporary Design Hall. Along with the 87 design brands located in Hall E6 and E7, Design Halls stimulated the domestic design originality to a higher level and wider acknowledgment, which marked the prompt development of the design industry in China. With the onsite events of "COLOR OF FURNITURE" and "Design Fabric", the entire E Halls have set up a dynamic stage for designers and their fabulous works to meet the market demands and create their unique value. Additionally, sector "Design China" of Maison Shanghai presented an organic combination of design and function such as painted gaming equipment and a glass fireplace, which enlarged both product category and industrial recognition on interior design. Two themed sections of Creation of Creators (COC) and Design of Designers (DOD) together explored the future possibilities of the design industry, thus making a remarkable contribution to the industrial chain.
High-end Manufacturing Takes the Spotlight
Aiming at the pain points of Chinese furniture industry, Furniture Manufacture & Supply China 2018 (FMC 2018) and FMC Premium 2018 (FMP 2018) looked into deeper cooperation for the industrial chain and provided effective solutions for the market demands for high-end manufacturing. FMC&FMP gathered more than 720 exhibitors from industries such as raw material, leather, textile and hardware, to timber finishing, upholstered components and chemical engineering. Along with four professional media and two national councils (American Hardwood Export Council and Swedish Wood), the show conveyed the concept of recyclable green material, which touched the true object of leading techniques as well as a direction for high-end manufacturing.
