FUQI International Receives Extension from Nasdaq to File Financial Reports
SHENZHEN, China, June 24 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- FUQI International, Inc. (Nasdaq: FUQI) today announced that The Nasdaq Stock Market ("Nasdaq") has granted to the Company an extension until September 28, 2010 to regain compliance with Nasdaq listing standards. As previously disclosed, the Company received notification letters from Nasdaq stating that the Company is out of compliance with Nasdaq Marketplace Rule 5250(c)(1), which requires timely filing of SEC periodic reports, with respect to the filing of the Company's Form 10-K for fiscal 2009 and Form 10-Q for the first quarter 2010. As requested by Nasdaq, the Company timely submitted to Nasdaq a compliance plan prior to June 1, 2010.
Based on Nasdaq's review of the plan, on June 16, 2010, Nasdaq notified the Company that it has granted the Company an extension until September 28, 2010 to file its 2009 Annual Report of Form 10-K and Quarterly Report on Form 10-Q for the first quarter 2010 with the Securities and Exchange Commission and regain compliance with the Rule. If the Company is unable to file those reports by September 28, 2010, Nasdaq will provide written notification that the Company's securities will be delisted. At that time, the Company may appeal Nasdaq's determination, and during any such appeal, the Company's securities would continue to be listed on Nasdaq.
