Fundacion Azteca, the Non-Profit Arm of Grupo Salinas, Raises 3 Million Dollars for Fundacion Michou y Mau to Support Burn Victims in the 54 Movimiento Azteca Awareness and Fundraising Drive

MEXICO CITY, Feb. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Fundacion Azteca, the non-profit arm of Grupo Salinas, raised over 36 million pesos (about 3 million dollars) during the 54 Movimiento Azteca awareness and fundraising campaign to support the Fundacion Michou y Mau burn center.
The amount raised was well above the initial goal of 5 million pesos and will provide care for 40,000 children with severe burns.
The funds were presented by Fundacion Azteca Executive President Esteban Moctezuma Barragan to Virginia Sendel, President of the Fundacion Michou y Mau. Also present during the televised ceremony were Jorge Humberto Contreras of Nacional Monte de Piedad, Adriana Vargas Alvarez, of Interjet and Dr. Luis Felipe Graham, from the State of Tabasco.
Once again, Grupo Salinas, led by its founder and chairman, Ricardo B. Salinas Pliego, confirms the generosity of Mexicans and the awareness of the importance of emergency health care within Mexican society.
