On March 19, 2014, First Solar, Inc. (First Solar) announced that its Chief Financial Officer Mark Widmar, along with other company executives, provided full-year 2014 guidance as well as summary financial targets through 2016, during its 2014 Analyst Day event held in New York. For full year 2014, the Company informed that it expects net sales of $3.7 billion to $4.0 billion, with consolidated gross margin expected at 16% to 18%. Diluted EPS is anticipated in the range of $2.20 to $2.60, with consolidated operating income of $270.0 million to $320.0 million. In addition, First Solar also provided summary outlook for 2015 and 2016. For 2015, the Company expects net sales to be in the range of $3.8 billion to $4.3 billion, with diluted EPS of $4.50 to $6.00. GT Advanced Technologies, Inc. Analyst Notes
On March 11, 2014, GT Advanced Technologies, Inc. (GT) announced that it has signed a $336.0 million supply agreement with Cosmos Chemicals Berhad to provide its complete suite of polysilicon production equipment and technology for a 25,000 metric ton annual (MTA) polysilicon facility in Sarawak, Malaysia. Cosmos Chemicals Berhad is said to be currently securing final financing for the project. "The polysilicon market is improving with spot prices on the rise and supply and demand coming into balance. This is a good time to begin construction of a new plant so that it comes online timed to rising prices. GT has a successful track record of helping new market entrants establish world-class polysilicon production operations. Our proven polysilicon technology gives customers the ability to quickly achieve nameplate production capacity for high quality, low-cost polysilicon," said Dave Keck, Executive Vice President of GT's Solar Business. On March 18, 2014, SunPower Corporation (SunPower) reported that homebuyers of KB Home at all of its communities in Arizona can now own a solar-powered KB home. The Company expects solar power to help KB homeowners to reduce their monthly energy bills by as much as 80% compared to a typical resale home, and may also qualify for a 30% federal tax credit and $1,000 from the state of Arizona. Trina Solar Limited Analyst Notes
On March 20, 2014, Trina Solar Limited (Trina Solar) announced that it has received $20.4 million from a customer in an arbitration settlement that involved an outstanding account balance under a solar module purchase agreement. The Company informed that the arbitration panel has determined that Trina Solar was entitled to $20.4 million, including the full amount of the outstanding accounts receivable of $17.4 million sought by the Company. In addition, Trina Solar noted that the accounts receivable provision of $5.7 million for bad debt previously accrued has been reversed in Q4 2013, as the arbitration fund was received subsequent to the Company's Q4 2013 and full-year 2013 earnings results. The adjusted net loss attributable to Trina Solar for full year 2013 now stands at $72.0 million from the previously reported net loss of $77.7 million for the same period.
