Fulcrum BioEnergy CEO to Present at the RFA 16th Annual National Ethanol Conference
PLEASANTON, Calif., Feb. 18, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Fulcrum BioEnergy, Inc. announced today that its President and CEO, E. James Macias, will be speaking at the Renewable Fuels Association (RFA) 16th Annual National Ethanol Conference. Mr. Macias will participate in a panel discussion titled "Where Are We on the Road to Next Generation Biofuels Commercialization." The conference will take place at the JW Marriott Desert Ridge Resort and Spa in Phoenix, Arizona on February 20 - 22. Mr. Macias' panel discussion is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. MST on February 21.
Mr. Macias will comment on why 2011 will be the year of construction for new commercial biofuels plants. With construction beginning on Fulcrum's first commercial project, the Sierra BioFuels Plant, Mr. Macias will address some of the important milestones that have allowed Fulcrum to successfully arrange financing in this economic environment. Along with other panel participants, Mr. Macias will also comment on U.S. policies and the role they play in supporting the new wave of advanced biofuels commercialization.
When it enters commercial operations late next year, the Sierra BioFuels Plant will be one of the first commercial-scale projects operating in the U.S. with the capacity to convert post-sorted municipal solid waste into renewable transportation fuels and energy. The Sierra BioFuels Plant is the first of several projects that Fulcrum is currently developing. Fulcrum has projects in various stages of development across the U.S. with the capacity to produce one billion gallons of ethanol per year. The modular design of Fulcrum's plants can be readily scaled to ensure successful large-scale commercial development throughout the country.
The RFA's 16th Annual National Ethanol Conference's main theme is "Building Bridges to a More Sustainable Future" and will showcase companies that are contributing to building that bridge from a national petroleum-fueled economy to one that is based on renewable fuels.
