Fujitsu Develops Hosted Unified Communications Solutions for the Enterprise
Enterprise Communication Service Enables Instant Collaboration from PCs, Phones and Tablets to Connect Customers, Their Employees and Partners
SUNNYVALE, Calif., July 15, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Fujitsu, a leading information communication technology company, today introduced Fujitsu Cloud Enterprise Communication Service (ECS) Connect, the first offering in its portfolio of cloud-hosted, end-to-end Unified Communications (UC) solutions. Ideal for North American companies with more than 1,500 end users and capable of supporting more than 100,000, ECS Connect delivers robust voice, communications and collaboration integration services that are designed to help customers simplify business processes, reduce technology integration complexities and optimize operating costs.
"Our customers are demanding a more simplified approach to communicating and collaborating with each other, partners and their own customers," said David Berry, executive vice president of Infrastructure Services at Fujitsu America, Inc. "Our collaboration with Microsoft and other partners to provide cloud-hosted UC solutions empower our customers with instant collaboration, from a desktop or handheld device. ECS Connect delivers the high-quality experience that employees and customers want, and the reliability and security that businesses need."
Simplify Business Processes
ECS Connect offers a full-featured, hosted UC solution, including instant messaging, presence indicators, audio and video calling and conferencing, and desktop sharing through the cloud, together with optional services, such as systems operations and support. The enterprise voice features of ECS Connect enable placing and receiving phone calls from mobile phones, soft phones, PC's, tablets, desk phones and other devices. By providing UC as an integrated, hosted offering, ECS Connect simplifies the interaction of people using a myriad of complex systems and workplace devices, resolving significant challenges related to geographically distributed teams, ad hoc collaboration with customers and partners, and business and process efficiency.
Reduce Technology Integration Complexities
Fujitsu ECS Connect expedites the modernization of an enterprise's collaboration service by months. The hosted solution eliminates server and datacenter complexities and takes care of best practices for Lync server configurations. With these savings, time can instead be spent on improving business processes, end user experience and devices training.
Optimize Operating Costs
Utilizing a pay-per-use model, ECS Connect enables companies to control spend and reduces capital investment requirements. To ensure Quality of Service (QoS) and further optimize spend, Fujitsu offers each UC customer an end-to-end assessment of actual voice traffic, current network bandwidth, and an objective analysis of what is needed to transition to a fully integrated UC system, such as Microsoft Lync. At the conclusion of this assessment, Fujitsu helps each customer understand potential cost savings and the return on investment for the initiative.
Fujitsu offers professional services related to ECS Connect, including the deployment of UC and integration with related technologies, such as Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft SharePoint® and Microsoft Office 365™. "We have a long-standing relationship with Fujitsu, and their support of Microsoft cloud technologies makes it possible for companies to benefit from integrating data, voice and video communications, with Fujitsu there to manage the entire process," said Todd Haugen, general manager of Connectivity Engineering at Microsoft. "By having Fujitsu deliver UC solutions and services, companies can focus on their core operations without compromising results or their customers' bottom line."
