Fugue Names Technology Industry Luminaries Wayne Jackson and Ron Bernal to Board of Directors
Closes $41M investment and accelerates go-to-market strategy
FREDERICK, Md., Jan. 5, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Fugue Inc. today announced that Wayne Jackson, CEO of Sonatype, and Ron Bernal, Venture Partner at New Enterprise Associates (NEA) have joined its Board of Directors. The board appointments come on the heels of an approximately $41 million Series D financing round. Fugue is the creator of the dynamic cloud orchestration and enforcement system that radically simplifies cloud infrastructure operations at scale.

Wayne Jackson is the CEO of Sonatype, a leading provider of enterprise tools to automate and scale DevOps-style software development, a role he has held since 2010. Prior to Sonatype, Jackson served as the CEO of open source network security pioneer Sourcefire, Inc., which he guided from fledgling start-up through an IPO in March of 2007, later acquired by Cisco for $2.7 billion. Jackson also co-founded Riverbed Technologies, a wireless infrastructure company, and served as its CEO until the sale of the company for more than $1 billion in March of 2000.
Ron Bernal joined New Enterprise Associates (NEA), a worldwide venture capital leader, in 2010 as a Venture Partner to focus on information and software technology investments. Bernal currently serves on numerous NEA portfolio company boards and has previously held board positions with technology innovators such as Data Domain (acquired by EMC), Gainspeed (acquired by Nokia), Nicira (acquired by VMware) and Solidfire (acquired by NetApp). Prior to NEA, Bernal spent the first 24 years of his career in the high-technology operating world as an entrepreneur and business executive, co-founding two successful companies and running large businesses at Silicon Graphics and Cisco Systems.
