FTI Consulting Strengthens its Public Affairs Practice with the Addition of Nationally Recognized American Indian Law and Public Policy Expert
WASHINGTON, Nov. 11, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- FTI Consulting, Inc. (NYSE: FCN), the global business advisory firm dedicated to helping organizations protect and enhance their enterprise value, today announced the appointment of Barry Brandon as a Managing Director in the firm's Public Affairs practice within the Strategic Communications segment. He will be based in Washington, D.C.
Mr. Brandon brings more than 20 years of experience serving at the intersection of Native American business and public policy to FTI Consulting. Working as both a senior federal official and in the private sector, he has represented American Indian tribes and businesses at both the state and national levels on issues of law, policy, risk management, economic development, taxation and regulatory compliance. In his new role within FTI Consulting's Public Affairs practice, Mr. Brandon will focus on matters related to American Indian tribes' business and government.

Prior to his role at FTI Consulting, Mr. Brandon served as President of Hvmken Consulting, where he provided a broad range of consulting services to a diverse client base that included federally recognized Indian tribes, a national financial services association, international and national developers, investors and manufacturers. Previously, he also served as Senior Vice President and General Counsel to the Seneca Gaming Corporation, one of the United States' largest tribally-owned resort casinos, and was also a partner at Akin, Gump, Strauss, Hauer & Feld, where he was a founding member of the firm's American Indian Law and Policy Practice Group. Mr. Brandon's public sector experience includes work as Chief of Staff and General Counsel at the National Indian Gaming Commission, and Deputy Director at the United States Department of the Interior, serving in the Secretary's Indian Water Rights Office.
