FTC Acting General Counsel David C. Shonka to speak at upcoming ACEDS eDiscovery conference
Headliner will address FTC's approach to security and privacy
MIAMI, April 1, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- The Association of Certified eDiscovery Specialists (ACEDS) today announced the addition of David C. Shonka, acting general counsel for the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) to its lineup of speakers for the seventh annual eDiscovery conference. The conference will be held April 18-20, 2016 at the Grand Hyatt New York in New York City.
During his session, Shonka will address the FTC's stewardship of and approach to security and privacy, and the landmark Wyndham case. He will also speak to The Sedona Conference® 2015 paper on security and privacy. Shonka is active in The Sedona Conference® Working Group SeriesSM on eDiscovery and information governance, cross-border discovery, and privacy and data security. He has been the FTC's principal deputy general counsel since 2008 and previously served as the agency's assistant general counsel for litigation. He also served as the first chair of the FTC's eDiscovery Steering Committee, and was a recipient of the 2015 Meritorious Executive Presidential Rank Award.
