Franklin Square's flagship BDC transitions to daily liquidity
PHILADELPHIA, April 16, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- FS Investment Corporation (FSIC) today listed shares of its common stock on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker "FSIC."
With $4.5 billion in total assets as of February 28, 2014, FSIC is one of the largest publicly traded business development companies (BDCs) in the market. It primarily originates and invests in the floating rate, senior secured debt of private middle market U.S. companies.

The company noted the stock traded at a session high of $10.30, a premium to book value, and the stock closed the day at $10.25, with approximately 8.7 million shares traded in heavy volume. Based on today's closing price, all of FSIC's pre-listing investors have experienced a positive return on their investment, with FSIC's earliest investors achieving a cumulative total return, net of all fees, of approximately 95%.
