UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif., Aug. 27, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Lured to a mysterious location by a shadowy hacker, a trio of college students uncovers a mystery of epic proportions in The Signal, coming to Blu-ray™ Combo Pack including Blu-ray™, DVD, and DIGITAL HD with Ultraviolet™ on September 23, 2014 from Universal Studios Home Entertainment. The film will also be available on DIGITAL HD two weeks early on September 9, 2014. A classic sci-fi thriller with a surprise ending, Joey Paur of Geek Tyrant calls The Signal "a mind-bending experience." The Signal is "not a movie you'll forget anytime soon," raves www.Bloody-Disgusting.com.
The Signal stars Academy Award® nominee Laurence Fishburne (The Matrix trilogy) opposite rising young stars Brenton Thwaites (Maleficent), Olivia Cooke (Bates Motel), and Beau Knapp (Super 8). Scott Bowles of USA Today writes, "Had Stanley Kubrick and David Lynch made a movie together, it might have looked something like The Signal."
Nic (Thwaites), his girlfriend Haley (Cooke), and his buddy Jonah (Knapp) take an unexpected detour from an idyllic cross-country road trip when they are contacted by a mysterious hacker who has gained entry into MIT's secured network. But after a rendezvous in an eerily remote area goes awry, Nic wakes to a living nightmare in an isolation unit. Now under interrogation by Dr. Wallace Damon (Fishburne), Nic is determined to find his friends and break free.
