UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif., Aug. 30, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Extraterrestrials invade Earth and a pair of middle schoolers hold the fate of the world in their hands in Aliens Ate My Homework, a delightfully comical intergalactic adventure. Currently wrapping production in Vancouver, British Columbia, Aliens Ate My Homework is the first of a planned series of inventive action-comedies from Universal 1440 Entertainment, a production entity of Universal Studios Home Entertainment. The film will be released for home entertainment in 2018.
Aliens Ate My Homework is based on the first book in the wildly successful Rod Allbright and the Galactic Patrol series. Written by internationally renowned author Bruce Coville, the four-part saga has sold over 17 million books worldwide and has been translated into 16 languages.

The film will feature the voice of William Shatner ("Star Trek") and will star Jayden Greig ("Murdoch Mysteries"), Lauren McNamara ("Summer of Dreams"), Tristan Risk (American Mary), Alex Zahara ("The Man in the High Castle") and Dan Payne (Star Trek Beyond, Watchmen). Aliens Ate My Homework is directed by Sean McNamara (Soul Surfer, "Love in Paradise") from a script by Judith Reeves-Stevens ("Primeval: New World") and Garfield Reeves-Stevens ("Primeval: New World"). The film is executive produced by Sean McNamara and Harvey Kahn (Mostly Ghostly 3: One Night in Doom House) as well as produced by Roger Lay Jr. ("Ray Bradbury's Chrysalis") and Eric Carnagey ("Captain Power: Out of the Ashes"). The film is also co-produced by Emmy®-winning make-up artist and Aliens Ate My Homework creature creator, Todd Masters (R.L. Stine's Monsterville: The Cabinet of Souls). Production designer is Bob Bottieri (The Twilight Saga: New Moon). Director of photography is Adam Sliwinski (The Barber).

SYNOPSIS
When a tiny intergalactic starship crashes into the bedroom of 12-year-old Rod Allbright (Jayden Greig), it's the start of the adventure of a lifetime for him and his cousin Elspeth (Lauren McNamara). Enlisted by the extraterrestrial Galactic Patrol, a group of out-of-this-world lawmen, Rod and Elspeth must race to save the world from Total Planetary Disaster.
