BELLEVUE, Wash., July 6, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Pacific Software Publishing, Inc. (PSPinc) is proud to celebrate its 30th anniversary in business, having rapidly grown with the age of internet these past three decades.
What started as a one-man operation in 1987, developing software and servicing a handful of clients from a small apartment on Mercer Island, founder Kenichi (Ken) Uchikura's company has since grown into a full-service web hosting, design and marketing solutions company now headquartered in Bellevue, Wash. The company employs 50 people and provides service to over 40,000 clients worldwide. It has remote offices in San Diego and Los Angeles.
In the late 80s, PSPinc provided translation and adaptation services to American software companies that wanted to enter the Japanese PC market. At that time, the use of personal computers was minimal in Japan, in part because popular software solutions built in the U.S. were unfit for Japanese hardware and language requirements. Ken sought to fix this disconnect and succeeded in building and licensing language word processing software that closed the technology gap between the two countries.
By 1995, Ken brought an Internet line into PSPinc, which was followed by the first server in 1996. A data center was built in 2000, allowing PSPinc to provide secure web and email hosting services to clients such as Tully's Coffee, Pro Golf Discounts and Park Place LTD in Washington.
Today, PSPinc has grown into a team of highly skilled software designers, web developers, graphic designers, programmers, account managers, as well as customer service and support teams. In 2009, Ken stepped down as President and CEO, naming Mayumi Nakamura his successor, but he remains at PSPinc in a research and development role, focusing on future innovation and technology that will take the company into the next 30 years.
In addition, PSPinc celebrates its good-standing reputation as a green company, a minority-owned company and a charitable company, earning many community awards over the years.
