Anthony J. Klis III has been running the store since 1983 and is proud of where he and his family have come.

"I was just a kid going to school and pumping gas," Klis said. When Klis finished high school, the gas station where he worked became available. Klis and his father decided to purchase the business.

Thirty years later, Klis has fully taken over the business, leaving his brothers to oversee a second location in Floral Park. From modest beginnings to owning two New York locations, the family business is well established and known for its reliability.

Klis is active in the Long Island community where he was raised. He and his brothers graduated from John H. Glenn High School, and as alumni they give back by supporting the school's sports teams. They participate in the booster club to make sure local students can continue to play the sports they love.

"Sometimes you only think about what you haven't accomplished, instead of what you have," Klis said.

Now that Klis Brothers has partnered with U-Haul and increased business as a result, Klis may not be the only person smiling at work. Klis plans to reward his employees who have taken on added responsibility with managing the U-Haul rentals.
