Frito-Lay Donates $90,000 to Texas High School Sports Programs
Spring 2012 'Score for Your School' Promotion Winners Announced
PLANO, Texas, May 16, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- PepsiCo's Frito-Lay North America division today announced the winners of its spring 2012 "Score for Your School" promotion that allowed consumers throughout the state of Texas to help raise funds for their school sports programs. A total of $90,000 in prize money was awarded to 18 schools from around the state – three from each of Texas' six divisional classes. Six of the winning schools each earned the promotion's top prize amount of $10,000.
"Throughout Texas, high school sports bring communities together and help students learn critical lifelong skills like leadership, teamwork and cooperation," said Craig Musgrove, vice president of sales for Frito-Lay North America. "Yet with so many local schools facing financial challenges, funding athletic programs can be a real challenge. Through the Score for Your School promotion, fans from all across the state had a fun and easy way to be part of the solution and make a difference for their local sports programs."
As part of Frito-Lay's Score for Your School promotion, thousands of fans entered a nine-digit product code from their favorite Frito-Lay snacks on the www.scoreforyourschool.com website to earn points for the high school of their choice. Each high school was grouped according to its listing in Texas' six divisional classes (5A, 4A, 3A, 2A, 1A and Private). First-place ($10,000), second-place ($4,000) and third-place ($1,000) prizes were awarded to the top-three schools in each division that collected the most points from their fans.
