Frisbie Hospital Wound Care Center Earns Center of Excellence Award

ROCHESTER, N.H., March 12, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- The Center for Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine at Frisbie Memorial Hospital has again earned the Robert A. Warriner III MD Center of Excellence award for the third consecutive year by Healogics, Inc., the nation's leading provider of advanced wound care services.

"A mere fraction, about five percent, of Healogics 700 centers nationwide received this year's award. It is truly an honor to be the only wound care center in the greater Seacoast region and only one of two centers in New Hampshire to receive this national award," said Frisbie Memorial Hospital president and CEO John Marzinzik.

Centers of Excellence must achieve outstanding patient outcomes for twelve consecutive months in the areas of patient satisfaction, wound healing rate, outlier rate and median days to heal. First time award winners earn a "Center of Distinction" award and for consecutive years, the center is elevated to a "Center of Excellence".

The Center for Wound Care specializes in treating chronic, non-healing wounds caused by diabetes, venous insufficiency, pressure, compromised skin grafts and flaps, post surgical complications and more. The outpatient program is staffed by a team of medical specialists who work closely with primary care providers and patients to coordinate a care plan in the areas of nutrition, lifestyle, and care-at-home, and meet with patients weekly until the wound heals.
