FRIMO to showcase mix and metering technology at UTECH North America
WIXOM, Mich., March 29, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- FRIMO, a leading developer of high quality plastic components, will be showcasing its latest mix and metering technology at booth #540 during the upcoming UTECH North America polyurethane show, held from April 6-7 in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Visitors to UTECH will have the opportunity to see the latest products on the market, source new suppliers, and learn about key issues and developments in the polyurethane industry during the conference.
Brent Gawne, polyurethane business manager for FRIMO, will also be presenting a technical paper, "PURe Mix Head Technologies with Servo Controlled Orifice Cartridges" during the conference's Machinery & Processing session on April 6 at 12:10 p.m.
FRIMO and CMTT: A Joint Venture
In 2014, FRIMO paired with Covelo Machine & Tool Trade Co., Inc (CMTT) in a joint venture with three goals: to accelerate development, expand the scope, and optimize service of mix heads. Since joining forces, they have developed a variety of mix and spray head options, as well as orifice needle systems to suit nearly every need.
Along with the three of the most popular of the many mix head variations, FRIMO will be displaying a three-component straight head with a closed loop servo controlled needle setting at UTECH. This mix head allows the output of any component stream to be seamlessly, individually programmed during the injection. This opens a new window of possibility for a more economic production of RTM parts.
FRIMO Mix Heads
FRIMO offers two types of mix heads, straight and L-shaped, with up to six fluid streams in a wide variety of sizes. Both types allow easy inspection and orifice and needle exchange outside the mix head, and have a special surface treatment on the pistons, which can reduce friction by up to 80 percent (compared to steel on steel).
FRIMO's L-shaped mix heads allow optimal access to easily set the cleanout piston throttle position, without sensors hindering the access. A large isolation chamber provides access for easy cleaning and eliminates any chance of contamination between the hydraulic oil and raw material.
