Friends of Quadrant Homes Launches Sustainability Challenge
BELLEVUE, Wash., March 17, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Friends of Quadrant Homes, a social network started by Quadrant Homes, is launching a 90-day Sustainability Challenge to encourage commitments to sustainable practices throughout the Puget Sound region. Quadrant will award grants of $2,000 to two Homeowner Associations (HOAs), one urban (located in either City of Seattle or City of Tacoma) and one suburban (suburban locations in King, Kitsap, Pierce, Skagit, Snohomish or Thurston counties). Grants will be awarded based on the environmental benefit and creativity of the HOAs effort. The Challenge began March 15 and will conclude on June 15. Grantees will be announced on June 28.
Puget Sound region HOAs can participate by committing to make small changes that have the potential to make a big impact. The idea being that if we all do our part to make a difference, by committing to little changes, the impact can be much bigger. From carpooling to installing low-water flow showerheads or planting a community garden – these things can add up to big benefits when considered together.
Starting today, all HOAs in the six-county Puget Sound region can sign-up to make a sustainability commitment. More details and online registration is available at www.friendsofquadranthomes.com/sustainabilitychallenge. The Challenge will run for 90 days. In addition to sustainability commitments, participants are encouraged to share their photos, videos and stories on the Friends of Quadrant Homes Facebook page.
