ROCKLAND, Mass., June 1, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Friends of Mel Foundation announced its participation at the Delta Air Lines' 2015 Global Sales Conference in Boston from June 1-3 at The Westin Boston Waterfront Hotel. This marks a special collaboration between the two organizations since the Friends of Mel Foundation was originated as a way to create a legacy for Mel Simmons, a Delta Air Lines flight attendant for 38 years who was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2000.
During the conference, Delta Sales professionals will have the opportunity to attend a variety of breakout sessions, including a community service workshop where attendees will learn about the Friends of Mel Foundation and donate their time by making bracelets for the organization.
"Delta is honored to support such an important and caring organization," said Kristen Shovlin, VP – Sales Operations. "We're proud to work with a group that has made a positive difference in the lives of others and we're grateful to partner with them in their outreach efforts."
"Mel loved being a Delta flight attendant and brought her exuberant personality to every flight," said Pauline Alighieri, founder and executive director of the Friends of Mel Foundation. "Mel´s Bracelet continues to symbolize friendship, support, love and community for the hundreds of thousands of women wearing the bracelets to show solidarity against various cancers."
