Fried Frank Continues Growth of Intellectual Property Litigation Practice By Adding Partner Robert M. Masters in Washington, DC
NEW YORK, July 18, 2016 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson LLP announced today that Robert M. Masters has joined the Firm as a partner in the Litigation Department, resident in the Washington, DC office. Mr. Masters' practice is focused on patent litigation, specifically in the technology sector. He routinely handles patent, trade secret, copyright, and trademark/trade dress litigations. In addition to his litigation experience, Mr. Masters has worked on mergers and acquisitions, advising clients with respect to intellectual property assets and portfolio management and monetization; he has also represented clients in licensing negotiations.
Mr. Masters further expands Fried Frank's Litigation Department and in particular the Intellectual Property Litigation Practice, which has been growing since last year when Scott W. Doyle and Jonathan R. DeFosse joined the Firm in its Washington, DC office, and Jeffrey I.D. Lewis joined the Firm's New York office.

Mr. Masters has served as lead counsel in numerous significant IP litigation matters in district courts throughout the United States and matters before the International Trade Commission (ITC). He has represented clients on matters involving a wide range of technologies, including consumer electronics and semiconductor designs; hardware, software and apps for computers and smartphones; secured internet/network communications and protocols; telecommunications; and medical devices, among others.
Before joining Fried Frank, Mr. Masters was a partner in Paul Hastings' Intellectual Property Group. He served as chair of the firm's litigation practice in Washington, DC and as global vice chair of Paul Hastings' Intellectual Property Group.
Mr. Masters received a JD from University of Baltimore, School of Law, in 1990 and a BSEE from Pennsylvania State University in 1985. He is admitted to the United States Patent & Trademark Office, the District of Columbia Bar and the Maryland Bar.
He is recognized by Chambers USA, among other legal directories.
