Fried Frank Boosts Litigation Department
Jamie Wareham joins as Chair of the Litigation Department
James Anklam joins as a Partner in the Litigation Department
NEW YORK, April 1, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson LLP announced today that James D. Wareham ("Jamie") and James E. Anklam have joined the Firm as partners in the Litigation Department, resident in the Washington, DC office. Mr. Wareham joins as the new chair of the Litigation Department.

Mr. Wareham has a broad-based litigation practice, with substantial experience in a variety of civil and criminal matters. He has served as lead counsel on behalf of multinational public companies, boards of directors and senior executives in the defense of securities class actions, government investigations, corporate criminal internal investigations and sophisticated civil litigation matters. Mr. Wareham joins Fried Frank from DLA Piper, where he was a partner in the firm's Washington, DC office. Prior to that, he served as global chair of litigation at Paul Hastings, which he joined in 2003 from Jones Day.
Mr. Wareham received his JD from Northwestern University School of Law in 1986, where he served as a member of the Journal of International Law and Business. He received his BA from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1981. He is a Member of the Board of Visitors of both the Northwestern University School of Law and the Duke University School of Public Policy.
Mr. Anklam also joins Fried Frank from DLA Piper, where he was a litigation partner. His practice primarily focused on defending clients in securities litigations and government investigations, including those under the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act. He also defended clients in derivative litigations and represented clients in general commercial disputes.
Mr. Anklam has worked closely with Mr. Wareham since their time at Jones Day, where Mr. Anklam joined as an associate and left as of counsel in 2003 when he moved to Paul Hastings. After law school, he served for one year as a clerk for the Honorable James L. Buckley in the US Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit.
Mr. Anklam received his JD, magna cum laude, from Cornell Law School in 1987 and his BA from the University of Virginia in 1981. At Cornell, he served as Symposium Editor for the Cornell Law Review and a member of the Order of the Coif.
