Fried Frank Adds Tax Partner Daniel Paulos in New York
NEW YORK, Aug. 1, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson LLP announced today that Daniel Paulos has joined the Firm as a partner in the Tax Department, resident in the New York office. Mr. Paulos regularly provides advice on the formation and operation of hedge funds and private equity funds; partnership matters, including qualifying income issues arising in the publicly traded partnership (MLP) context; and significant upper-tier (sponsor-level) transactions.
Mr. Paulos also advises on a broad range of domestic and international tax matters, with a focus on planning and structuring complex cross-border transactions. He counsels clients on mergers, acquisitions, restructurings and divestitures in a variety of business contexts, including with respect to investments in real estate, shipping and other transportation assets, and infrastructure and energy assets.
Additionally, he has represented clients on international tax issues that arise with respect to investments in the United States by non-US investors (including investors subject to special US tax treatment), as well as investments outside of the United States by US persons.

Before joining Fried Frank, Mr. Paulos was a partner in the Tax Department at Akin Gump. He received a JD from Harvard Law School in 2005, an MA from Brown University in 2002, and a BA, cum laude, from Yale University in 2000. Mr. Paulos is admitted to practice in New York.
