Freudenberg Celebrating Ten Years of Its IT Business in North America
PLYMOUTH, Mich., Nov. 25, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Freudenberg IT (FIT), the premier global provider of IT services for optimizing and operating IT systems, is celebrating ten years of successful operations in North America. The milestone comes at the time when FIT is expanding its cloud infrastructure, purpose-built for SAP®, to deliver secure, fast and reliable services.
"FIT America is a perfect example of Freudenberg's winning recipe for long-term success – creating value for the customer through innovation and entrepreneurship. Last year, 15 Freudenberg companies generated more than $1.8 billion in sales in North America, making it Freudenberg's second largest market after Europe. FIT's success solidifies that position," says Leesa Smith, Freudenberg North America president and regional representative.
Ten years ago, FIT entered the North American market with a focus on managed SAP hosting, serving two customers. Year over year, the customer base grew significantly to include those from consumer packaged goods, manufacturing, industrial machinery, life sciences, retail, and many more.
To accommodate the growth of business, FIT America expanded its data center and office operations in North Carolina multiple times: in 2005, 2009 and 2012. By investing in the new data center, office operations and workforce, FIT America has been able to respond to the increased demand for managed SAP hosting services and information technology outsourcing (ITO).
Today, more than 120 FIT America experts (with access to more than 1000 worldwide experts) provide services to more than 150 customers who benefit from FIT's early adoption of the latest IT megatrends with SAP, including cloud computing, big data and mobility.
"I am truly proud of the growth that we have experienced over the past decade in North America. Our continual success is attributed to our customer-centric business model. This, in combination with our state-of-the-art data centers, puts us in a unique position to maintain and run thousands of customers' mission-critical systems. As a result, customers look to us as their 'trusted IT advisor' to optimize their IT departments with improved performance," says Michael Heuberger, FIT America president and CEO.
FIT America has been and continues to be a trail-blazer in the hosting of SAP in the cloud. Their cloud offering, FITvFlex, provides customers with rapid system deployment, application availability and throughput, ongoing technical applications support, and robust data security policies and procedures; all with an improved cost-benefit ratio.
FIT's services have been uniquely engineered from the ground up to specifically deploy and operate mission-critical software applications, like SAP, in the cloud with optimal performance and unbeatable uptimes.
