French Bulldog Tops The Charts In West Palm Beach
Nationally, Labrador Retriever Remains America's Most Popular
NEW YORK, March 16, 2021 /PRNewswire/ -- Once again, the French Bulldog took West Palm Beach's top spot in the American Kennel Club's (AKC®) 2020 ranking of the most popular AKC-recognized dog breeds in the U.S for the fifth year in a row.
The French Bulldog was also recognized as the #1 pup in New York, NY and Houston, TX.
West Palm Beach's favorite breeds remain largely unchanged; however, Poodles have worked their way up to break into the top five at 5th, knocking the Bulldog back down to 8th place.
"Frenchie fever has swept the nation," said AKC Executive Secretary Gina DiNardo. "The loveable French Bulldog continues to be a favorite in many cities, and with its friendly disposition and adaptability, it's clear why so many people love the breed."

The AKC also announced its nationwide rankings today at the AKC Museum of the Dog in NYC. The Labrador Retriever celebrates a milestone! The loveable Lab remains the number one most popular breed in the United States for the 30th year.
While the Lab holds firmly to the top spot, the French Bulldog has continued to skyrocket in popularity. The Frenchie landed at number two in 2020, knocking the German Shepherd Dog down to third. The German Shepherd Dog had been the second most popular dog breed since 2009.
