Fremont Insurance Rated Michigan's Top Insurance Company By Michigan Agents

FREMONT, Mich., May 11, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- According to the results of the 12th Biennial Michigan Association of Insurance Agents (MAIA) 2012 Agent Survey of Companies announced today, Fremont Insurance was named the highest rated insurance company among independent agents across the state.  Fremont received the highest average company score by placing at, or near, the top of all nine categories in the survey. Fremont was ranked as the top agency in the Competitiveness, Service: Commercial Lines, Automation, Underwriting Attitude and Management categories.  The Company was a close second in Service: Personal Lines, Claims, and Agency Contract, and third in Compensation.

The MAIA is dedicated to serving the needs of Michigan independent insurance agents and consumers by promoting a healthy and competitive insurance and business environment.  The MAIA Agent Survey of Companies takes place every two years and provides agents with the opportunity to rate their carriers on a variety of issues such as competitiveness, service, underwriting, company management and compensation.  Agents rate companies from 1 (poor) to 5 (Outstanding) in each category.

The MAIA Survey of Companies began in 1992.  Although the survey is not considered scientific (not all Michigan companies and agents are included in the results) it does provide an important and useful comparison of Michigan companies, highlighting areas where a company excels, and offering suggestions for improvements.  Fremont Insurance has continued to climb in the MAIA's rankings each year that the results have been released.  In 2004, Fremont ranked 15th on the list.  In 2006 the Company jumped to 7th place.  Two years later, in 2008, Fremont had moved up to 4th place and in 2010 the company ranked 3rd.
