The Content 360 Festival offers digital media innovators the possibility to showcase their ideas for next generation audience engagement directly to the global TV and media industry at MIPTV, to win financial backing and gain international recognition.
Content 360 is now part of Connected Creativity at MIPTV, the new global forum uniting the world's dominant market forces in technology, mobile media and entertainment.
Applicants have until February 14 to submit new ideas for interactive and digital entertainment formats, online and social games, as well as smart phones and connected TV apps.
FremantleMedia, in conjunction with its parent company RTL Group, joins the competition looking to identify a key individual or company in the digital media space with whom to develop, produce and distribute a global digital entertainment format. The winner will be offered a euro 10,000 contract to co-develop the idea further.
The National Film Board of Canada (NFB), partner of Content 360 since its inception in 2006, is seeking proposals for "Smart Phone App for Youth Engagement" in relation to NFB's documentaries, Sexy Inc. and Staying Real. The winning project will receive a euro 12,000 development contract.
In addition to the FremantleMedia and RTL Group and NFB categories, this year's competition includes independent categories for online and social games and rich media apps, which aim to recognise new concepts and prototypes in this rapidly growing area of interest to media companies.
"This year's Content 360 competition reflects the growing importance to the media industry of new forms of audience engagement across connected devices. As part of new Connected Creativity event at MIPTV, we are delighted to be able to provide an expanded international platform to stimulate digital creativity and business partnerships," said MIPTV's Director of Digital Media, Ted Baracos.
The Content 360 competition is open to digital producers, interactive agencies, digital designers, Internet content creators, game developers, and mobile application providers from around the world. Content 360 finalists will be announced by 23 February and will be invited to present their ideas at MIPTV.
The competition winners will be announced on April 6, during a ceremony in Cannes.
