FreeWave Technologies to Demonstrate and Speak on Using Industrial Grade Wireless Solutions for Extending PLC Capabilities at Rockwell Automation Fair
Wireless data radio leader also to hold contest in booth for chance at winning a 500 GB hard drive
CHICAGO, Nov. 15, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- ROCKWELL AUTOMATION FAIR (Booth #726), -- FreeWave Technologies, (http://www.freewave.com), manufacturer of the most reliable, high-performance spread spectrum and licensed radios for critical data transmission, today announced it will showcase its latest industrial grade wireless data radio offerings for extending Rockwell Automation Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) at the 2011 Rockwell Automation Fair (http://www.rockwellautomation.com/events/automationfair/).
FreeWave will be demonstrating a wide array of its popular ruggedized data radios in the booth, including the HT Plus and FGR2-PE Ethernet series, FGR2 line of serial products, (in both board and enclosed configurations), and its wireless I/O Expansion Module family. All FreeWave's products shown can easily be incorporated into Rockwell Automation's family of PLC solutions for markets that rely on automation solutions, such as manufacturing, water/wastewater, electric power/smart grid and energy/oil and gas.
"There is ever-increasing momentum between Rockwell and FreeWave based on customers' growing demand for reliable, secure, industrial grade, cost effective wireless products in automation applications," said Curt Goldman, Business Development Manager at FreeWave Technologies. "Our relationship with Rockwell is a crucial part of FreeWave's go-to market strategy in the industrial marketplace. We look forward to continuing to work closely with it as a key partner as we bring new wireless solutions and technologies to customers that help address their needs."
Goldman will be speaking on how FreeWave's wireless I/O solution is able to extend Rockwell Automation PLC capabilities at the conference by addressing issues previously deemed cost prohibitive, not technical feasible or lacking in sufficient reliability. He will explain how FreeWave spread spectrum wireless data radios with I/O expansion modules can offer increased scalability and performance for Rockwell Automation PLCs, offering customers a more secure and cost-effective solution then has been available. Goldman will be speaking both days of the conference, Nov. 16 and Nov. 17, at 10 a.m. in Room W475A. Copies of his presentation are available upon request (see media contact below).
In addition, FreeWave will be holding a competition during the Rockwell Automation Fair exhibit hours on Nov. 16-17. The competition will time contestants on their ability to stop/start a sensor attached to a FreeWave I/O radio connected to a Rockwell PLC and PanelView Plus via a FreeWave FGR2-CE radio. The person who finishes in the shortest amount of time will win a 500 GB hard drive. Others who participate also will be entered into a random drawing for a hard drive at the end of the conference. To participate in the competition, visit FreeWave's Booth (#726) either day of the show. FreeWave also will announce a separate competition on Twitter during the Rockwell Automation Fair. To participate, follow FreeWave on Twitter (@freewavetech) Nov. 16 - 17 to be eligible to win a 500 GB, portable hard drive.
