NEW YORK, Nov. 10, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- Join U-Haul on Thursday, November 11th, as we honor our nation's heroes and pay tribute to and support our veterans and troops throughout the world, as we sponsor the 91st annual New York City Veterans Day Parade. The theme for this year's parade is "Freedom is Not Free," in honor and commemoration of the 60th anniversary of the Korean War. U-Haul will be honoring the men and women of the armed forces, past and present, by joining the parade with commemorative SuperGraphic trucks, which pay homage to each branch of our military, along with the United We Stand SuperGraphic and the Wounded Warrior Project – Soldier Ride SuperGraphic. These trucks will be proudly displayed along with the U-Haul Freedom Float, which will carry New York City's very own United We Sing (formerly the USO Girls of Metropolitan N.Y.), who will sing patriotic songs.

U-Haul, founded by World War II Navy veteran L.S. "Sam" Shoen and his wife Anna Mary Carty Shoen, designed and dedicated five vibrant military SuperGraphics to honor the five branches of the military — Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force and Coast Guard, and to show our support for the men and women who have served and are still proudly serving in the armed services. U-Haul created the United We Stand SuperGraphic in honor of the men, women and children who lost their lives on that tragic day, and to pay tribute to the courageous rescuers who died trying to save them. The Wounded Warrior Project Soldier Ride SuperGraphic is dedicated to honoring the brave men and women who have been injured in conflicts around the world.
As one of the lead parade entries, U-Haul will be honoring veterans by distributing flags and red, white and blue "Support Our Troops" ribbon magnets to spectators along the parade route.
"For the seventh year in a row, we are privileged to again be one of the title sponsors of the 2010 'Freedom Is Not Free' Veterans Day Parade," stated U-Haul President of Phoenix Operations John "J.T." Taylor. "U-Haul has supported our military personnel since 1945 and has given a high priority to veterans in our recruiting process. U-Haul simply wants to give back to the veterans who have sacrificed so much for our freedom."
"On behalf of all veterans throughout the country, we salute U-Haul International for honoring our military men and women, past and present," stated Patrick Gualtieri, parade chairman, United War Veterans Council. "U-Haul is a tremendous supporter, always assisting us with any needs we have."
