Freedom Environmental Acquires David M. Hickman Septic Service Company of West Chester, PA
ORLANDO, Fla., March 9, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Freedom Environmental Services (Pink Sheets: FRDM) announces today that it has acquired in an asset purchase the business and assets of David M. Hickman Septic Service Company, a family owned residential and commercial septic service company operating for over 100 years in the Pennsylvania area.
"This acquisition gives us the perfect location and the right partners to enter the Pennsylvania region and the surrounding 4 states," stated Michael Ciarlone, COO for Freedom Environmental. Mr. Ciarlone went on to say, "I was born and raised in the PA region and spent 40 years working in the area and building relationships. This property borders the Goose Creek wastewater facility and will allow us to develop a foothold in the Northeast to not only service Lincoln Field, home of the Philadelphia Eagles, but many other commercial relationships I look forward to reestablishing."
"Mr. Hickman and his family have serviced the area for more than 100 years and are well respected in the Pennsylvania region," states Mike Ciarlone. "We look forward to integrating our existing services and duplicating our existing grease recycling facility on our new PA site."
The rendering and grease recovery business offers Freedom Environmental a huge opportunity to grow its current business and commercial client base. According to Mr. Ciarlone, "This acquisition gives Freedom the ability to attract larger customers in all markets, creating the ability for us to service more locations in several states, and allows us to work with corporate and multiple franchisees that are looking to one company to handle the majority of their locations."
"We should have our grease recycling facility up and running in 90 days, and with the relationships that Mr. Hickman and I both have in the area, our grease recovery business will grow exponentially," says Mike Ciarlone. "We can sell every gallon of grease we can pick up and process to Solar Blue to supply the clean energy initiative at Lincoln Field."
Freedom Environmental announced an $18 million dollar supply contract last week with Solar Blue. The biodiesel produced from this contract will be used to produce renewable electricity for Clean Fuel's sister company, Solar Blue. Solar Blue has an exclusive 20-year contract to supply electric power for Lincoln Financial Field, home of the Philadelphia Eagles of the NFL.
