FreeCast's Select TV Trumps New Apple TV
Now accepting pre-orders, FreeCast's Select TV outshines rival set top boxes from Apple, Roku, and others.
ORLANDO, Fla., Sept. 9, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- FreeCast is now accepting pre-orders for its long awaited set top box. Select TV, which was previewed at the National Association of Broadcasters' Show in Las Vegas earlier this year, promises to deliver a next-generation television experience at a fraction of the price of cable TV. For just $99, Select TV combines FreeCast's Media Aggregation Platform, which organizes over 350,000 TV episodes, 100,000 movies, over 4000 streaming channels, more than 50,000 radio stations, over 25,000 games, and more with live local over-the-air broadcast channels received via a free HDTV antenna.
In addition to entertainment, the quad-core device will include dozens of every-day features, including the ability to record and watch shows via DVR (like TiVo), screen-casting via Miracast and AirPlay (like Chromecast), a full web browsing and email experience, a file download and app manager, cloud storage integration, home security and automation features, and more, serving as a complete PC hub for the entire household.
William Mobley, CEO of FreeCast, explained the advantages that Select TV has over other set top boxes. "Select TV delivers a no-compromises TV experience, offering even more content than you can get with cable TV, at a lower cost. This is the future of television, you decide what you want to watch and what you want to pay, on an a la carte basis. So you can choose from the millions of free titles or your favorite pay channels and services like CBS All Access, HBO Now, even Netflix. You can also pay-per-view to rent or purchase your favorite TV episodes and movies from iTunes, Amazon, and more, all with price comparisons so you know you're getting the right deal. Select TV brings it all together, just like cable TV for the web."
Consumers wishing to pre-order Select TV can do so on the web at http://selecttv.com. The company is also revealing plans for Select TV Deluxe, a new version of the device that will run Windows 10, featuring a touch screen, voice search, and a plethora of new features, and that can even be used without a television set.
