FreeCast Inc Launches Premium Pay Channels for Rabbit TV Plus as HBO GO Announcement Surfaces
Rabbit TV has quietly amassed a multitude of premium content in a bid to become the first major a la carte TV provider.
ORLANDO, Fla., Oct. 16, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- The future of online television is not just limited to closed content libraries like Netflix, which is why FreeCast Inc has embraced a la carte programming and begun offering premium pay channels with the all new Rabbit TV Plus. This comes on the heels of HBO's announcement that it will be offering a standalone version of its online TV service HBO GO.
After months of negotiations with premium content partners, Rabbit TV Plus can now proudly offer all of the primary entertainment options that consumers have come to expect on cable TV, including offerings from the NFL, NBA, NHL, MLB, WWE and Tennis, news channels such as Glenn Beck's 'The Blaze', as well as premium live television channels from China, India, Pakistan, Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Venezuela, Peru, Brazil, the Middle East, and many more.
CEO William Mobley said "With HBO GO, and whispers of ESPN eventually going effectively a la carte via the web, it really opens the floodgates for the other networks to do the same. Netflix will never be a replacement for cable - it's really just another channel among many. Rabbit TV Plus is already offering premium channels, in addition to hundreds of thousands of free movies, TV shows, and radio stations. HBO and live sports really complete the circle for a lot of people, allowing them to leave traditional cable behind. We're excited about the possibility of giving our 3 million plus subscribers the opportunity to experience them all with Rabbit TV Plus."
FreeCast's Rabbit TV Plus already touts the web's largest video-on-demand guide with over 250,000 movies, 100,000 TV shows, 50,000 radio stations, and much more, all for only $10 a year. Now the company can offer audiences a real TV experience via the internet, including a complete selection of both freely available content, the latest pay-per-view movies and shows, and now premium pay channels. While more and more content goes direct-to-consumer via the web, Rabbit TV Plus continues to be the pioneer in a la carte TV.
As the holiday shopping season approaches, the company's announcement comes at a key time, fueling forecasts that the service will reach between 12 and 15 million paid subscribers by the summer of 2015.
