Free or Reduced Admission and Special Programs at Art Museums Across North America
NEW YORK, May 13 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Art museums across the continent will join in celebrating International Museum Day on or around May 18, 2010 by offering free or reduced admission or special programs. These museums—all members of the Association of Art Museum Directors (AAMD)—are located across the United States, Canada, and Mexico, and include smaller regional museums as well as leading international institutions. AAMD participation will focus attention on the important roles that art museums serve in their communities, showcase their collections, and increase opportunities for audiences to engage with the many educational programs art museums offer. International Museum Day is organized annually by the International Council of Museums (ICOM).
